Our crew were paged at 2.04 pm this afternoon tasked to nearby Housel Bay to reports of 4 persons sighted on rocks having possibly been cut off by the tide and being in need of assistance. Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team were also on scene but had gained no visual sighting of the casualties. RNLB Rose was requested to carry out a search from the sea. Upon arrival the Y-boat was launched and 3 persons (none of whom were unaccounted for) were subsequently located and fortunately found not to be in need of any assistance. RNLB Rose was stood down and returned to the lifeboat station for re-housing and was made ready for service again by 3 pm. Approximately five Emergency Coastguard 999 calls had been received from concerned members of the public. All the calls had been made in good faith.
