The Lizard Lifeboat

Friday 16th July 2021

RNLB Rose launched at approximately 12.50 today to a report of a casualty probably requiring medical attention on cliffs/rocks at Bass Point just off Lizard Point – The casualty had suffered an ankle injury while taking part in a coasteering activity.  Mullion Coastguard team and Coastguard Helicopter 924 were also in attendance.  The lifeboat stood by until it became clear the only way to safely transfer the casualty from the rocks was going to be via the helicopter, consequently the casualty was airlifted to The Lizard football field to await onward transport for medical attention. Many thanks to our land and air rescue colleagues.
