The Lizard Lifeboat

Thursday 3rd June 2021

The Lizard Lifeboat launched at 18.35pm this evening to a report of a male casualty with a head injury having fallen onto rocks from The Todden at Cadgwith Cove.  RNLB Rose proceeded to Cadgwith Cove – Little Beach.  On arrival the casualty was found to be conscious but had indeed sustained a head injury – the casualty was not accessible from the beach by foot so the lifeboat’s Y-boat was deployed to take waiting paramedics off the beach to the casualty.  He was treated on scene and made comfortable prior to being airlifted by S&R Coastguard Helicopter 924 to Treliske Hospital in Truro.  The lifeboat arrived back on station in Kilcobben Cove at 20.45pm. Our thanks to all of our emergency service colleagues this evening
