The Lifeboat was tasked at 04.22am this morning to go to the assistance of a 42ft yacht taking in water. The yacht’s position was given as 5 nautical miles off Coverack. On arrival at the scene the yacht had drifted to a position in-line with Falmouth Bay. Coxswain Dan Atkinson put two crew aboard the yacht to set up a salvage pump. On investigation it was found that water was ingressing from a broken shaft seal thereby flooding the engine room. Once the yacht was in a stable condition a tow rope was attached and it was towed in to Mylor Marina arriving at 07.17am. RNLB Rose arrived back at Kilcobben for re-housing at 08.25am.
