The Lizard Lifeboat Crew Dinner

The Housel Bay Hotel at The Lizard welcomed Crew members, their families and guests to The Lizard Lifeboat Crew Dinner on Friday 22nd November 2019 where over the course of the evening, on behalf of the station,  several well earned and very deserved presentations were made ….  also creeping into proceedings were a few, also well deserved, “fun” presentations!

Retired Lizard Lifeboat Coxswain Phil Burgess presenting Head Launcher Jeff Ashby with his “Golden Helmet” as the current longest serving acting member of the Lifeboat Station – Jeff’s first Coxswain was Peter “Pan” Mitchell  followed by Phil Burgess and  now works alongside current Coxswain Andrew Putt  ……. not forgetting Coxswain Russ Craig who stood in for a year at The Lizard, October ’18 to October ’19 during Andrew’s secondment to a managerial role within the RNLI ……..

David Gascoigne The Lifeboat Stations Visitor Centre Manager – David was presented with a certificate thanking him for his dedicated and tireless work within the Centre and also pushing RNLI souvenir sales at the Station past the £100,000 mark – a magnificent achievement in the relatively short space of time in which our “new” boathouse has been operational, and also considering our relatively remote position – Very well done David and all of the Visitor Centre volunteers …
