The lifeboat launched on service at 5.45pm on 2nd August to go to the assistance of a becalmed yacht in a position estimated to be approximately 6 nautical miles south-south west of Lizard Point. No other vessel in the area was able to offer assistance. The 8-meter yacht with 2 people on board was becalmed and carrying no spare fuel. Upon arrival a tow rope was attached and the lifeboat began the tow in to Falmouth. RNLB Rose arrived back at Kilcobben Cove for re-housing at 10.22pm.
